Target Scam!

Attention Advent readers. This scam was just brought to my attention this morning. As you may have heard on the news, Target recently suffered a major security breach in which millions of Target's customer may have had the credit and debit card information stolen.

As you may be aware, that information may be sold online or used to clone your card and drain your accounts. Usually, after a major breach of security such as the Target one, scammers instantly jump at the opportunity to dupe people again by presenting themselves as Target representatives offering assistance in "recovering" or "helping" you in some way. The offer is usually an email designed to appear as if it's coming from Target. This is called PHISHING, and usually occurs following any major news worthy incident from security breaches to earthquakes, to major disasters.

The Target incident is no different and the scumbags are already at it. Please don't fall for it. These scumbags will only grind salt into an already painful wound by ripping people off again.
